Britax “ClickTight” Recall

If you have a ClickTight car seat, you should head on over to this website by Britax to see if your model is being recalled. This voluntary safety recall is due to some ClickTight buttons sticking, and allowing slack in the shoulder harness caused by the child’s movements.

Awesome Apps for Kids – Road Trip Game

This week Sago Mini has been giving away their app, “Road Trip” for free. I know it is Sunday, and I don’t normally do posts on Sunday, but I wanted to make sure that you had an opportunity to get this app while it is free.

Road Trip App Sago Mini

Road Trip Game

The premise of this app, Road Trip by Sago Mini, is that you are going to visit a friend in your vehicle. Your child gets to choose which friend they will visit. They then pack a suitcase, choose one of many vehicles, and then load the suitcase in the back. Along the way they can fill up at the gas station (which counts up to 100), and jump their vehicle, much to their character’s delight.

My two year old loves this app, but so do my 6 and 8 year old. Go figure. The different vehicles and destinations offer many possibilities, which means they could play with this app for a while. If you are planning a road trip, why not give this app a chance, and let your little one plan a road trip of their own. Thanks Sago Mini, for another fun and kid friendly game.

Happy Travels,

Kristin

6,500 Miles – Road Trip USA

If you follow my blog at all you know that I have been traveling, a lot! We just did a coast to coast road trip across the entire United States. We started in Colorado, headed to Virginia, and then we went all the way back to our home state, California. The whole purpose of our trip was to see friends and family, which made the trip super special. We also were able to see some of the sights.

If I am being completely honest with you, my treasured reader, I have to tell you that the trip exceeded every expectation I had. There were not even any problems, except for my oldest daughter getting car sick a few times. Our rental car got updated to a full size for free so we were able to fit all of our suitcases comfortably, and it even had leather interior, which made for much easier clean up!

We got to see The National Mall, The Big Easy, and Virginia Beach. It was an amazing time and I am primed to write many articles about all of the different things I learned while we were traveling. Tune in next week to hear how one small apple became one big deal on our flight from Athens, Greece to Philadelphia.

For now I will leave you with this photo of me kissing the California sign. It is so good to be back in my home state with all of my family members!

New Year – New Plans

Happy New Years to all you travel minded families out there! I’m excited to get back into blogging. If I’m being completely honest, I will admit that by November I was pretty burnt out on blogging. My life got crazy busy and I just needed a break. One of those crazy things that happened was that I turned 30 in December!! So far I like being 30. I am glad to report my blogging slump is over and I am extremely excited about what this year has to bring in general and here on Sprouts En Route.

This is what 30 looks like! I admit, I did photoshop one zit out... but other than that, you see what you get.

First of all, I am going to finish all the series I started last year but didn’t have a chance to complete. This means there will be more posts on Traveling and Child Safety along with the completion of my Better Family Photography series.

I am also thrilled to announce that our family will be completing a Coast to Coast road trip this summer in the United States, and you will be coming along with us! We are going to be blogging and video blogging our way through many different states, and there will also be some unique sponsorship opportunities for businesses to advertise in different ways. I will give out more information on this as the planning gets more detailed. I am also going to try to set up one or two meet ups along the way for you readers if there is any interest.

Another goal I have is to publish a Family Vacation Travel Guide where you can write down all your plans in one place. So be on the look out for that later on in the year!

With a new year beginning I thought I would do a short 2013 review… here we go!
